Department Manager of Engineering in Electric Operations, Con Edison
Since joining Con Edison in 2002, Zhao Feng (Jeff) Mah has had a unique career, contributing to both engineering and design and field operations. Jeff is currently the co-lead for Electric Opera- tions’ program for reducing the electric shunt life cycle, which has resulted in more than $1 million in annual savings. Most recently, he was promoted to Department Manager for the electric distribution system, Brooklyn/Queens Regional Engineering.
While earning his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union, Jeff worked as a Con Ed intern. He subsequently entered the GOLD program, the company’s management track, and earned an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
He has volunteered as a tax preparer for low-income and elderly New Yorkers through VITA, a mentor for underprivileged urban youth with Breakthrough NY, and as an elected member of the Cooper Union Alumni council. Jeff also presented Con Edison Electric Operations’ efforts in Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement to a panel of utility HR executives at a recent Edison Electric Institute conference.
Jeff is keen on developing the next generation of leaders. Over the years, he has served as a mentor in the company’s corporate mentorship program, and has served as the Training Effective- ness Committee chair for the services group.
