Gil Quiniones leads ComEd, an Exelon company, which powers the lives of more than 9 million residents in Chicago and northern Illinois. He manages an electric grid delivering safe, reliable electricity and under his leadership, the company was named as the most reliable utility in America by PA Consulting.
Before ComEd, Quiniones spent over a decade as president and CEO of the New York Power Authority (NYPA), the nation’s largest state-owned electric utility. He also held senior energy roles in New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s administration and spent 16 years at Con Edison, where he cofounded Con Edison Solutions.
In August 2022, President Joseph Biden appointed him to the President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council. Quiniones also serves on the Executive Committee for the Chicago Community Trust and the boards of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the Illinois Economic Development Corporation, and World Business Chicago. He is Co-Chair of the Corporate Coalition of Chicago. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from De La Salle University and completed executive education at Columbia, Wharton, and Harvard Business School.
