Gagan Singh is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Ascension, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems. Since becoming CIO in 2022, he has led Ascension’s digital modernization, overseeing a technology strategy that harmonizes enterprise infrastructure with advanced clinical platforms to improve care delivery and operational excellence.

Under his strategic direction, Ascension has undergone a fundamental shift toward a data-first organization, implementing a data governance model, a master patient index, and a unified provider directory. By bridging the gaps between infrastructure, cybersecurity, software engineering, clinical platforms, and informatics, his leadership has strengthened clinical and business performance.

Previously, Singh served as Ascension’s Chief Data Officer. In this capacity, he transformed the organization’s data philosophy, ensuring that clinical and business insights were accessible and actionable for front-line clinicians and administrators alike. He remains dedicated to building a data-literate culture and leveraging technology to enhance associate, consumer, and clinician experiences that support better health outcomes and a more connected healthcare system.
