Clifford K. Chiu joined Vista Equity Partners in 2015 as a Senior Advisor and now also serves on Vista’s Executive Committee, guiding the firm’s strategic direction. He sits on the boards of Acquia, Allvue Systems, Critical Start, Finastra, LogicMonitor, Securonix, and TRG Screen.

Beyond Vista, Mr. Chiu advises private investment firms and serves on boards and committees spanning financial services, enterprise software, healthcare, education, social welfare, and the arts in the U.S. and Hong Kong. He is a member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and has participated in its Track II Digital Economy Dialogue. Since 2022, he has been a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Presidential Scholars. Before Vista, Mr. Chiu was a partner at KKR, founding and leading capital raising and investor relations in Asia Pacific. He also advised Neuberger Berman in Hong Kong and held roles on various Hong Kong government advisory panels related to financial services and market development.

He has served on boards of public and private companies including Cambium Learning Group, Ping Identity, TIBCO Software, and Apptio. Mr. Chiu is deeply committed to education and healthcare, serving as a trustee or director for several organizations and advisory boards at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he was the first distinguished executive-in-residence in Hong Kong. He has endowed scholarships at multiple institutions and mentored hundreds of students and alumni.

A community advocate, Mr. Chiu’s 2020 OpEd against anti-Asian hate inspired Austin, Texas, to proclaim an Asian American/Pacific Islander Community Day. In 2024, he sponsored “Spread AAPI Love,” a national storytelling project for AAPI Heritage Month. He lives in Austin and continues to support local healthcare and social initiatives.
