Balvinder Deonarine is a Project Manager of Business Development in Electric Transmission at Con Edison, focused on developing high-voltage electric transmission projects that support renewable energy across multiple states. She is currently collaborating with NY Transco on Propel NY Energy, a major transmission project strengthening connections between Long Island and Westchester.

With 18 years at Con Edison, Balvinder has extensive experience, including facilitating large-scale energy storage installations in New York City, integrating Distributed Energy Resources (DER) into the electric grid, and helping develop the DER market at both distribution and wholesale levels. She also spent over a decade managing maintenance and operations of transmission substations and Manhattan’s electric distribution system.

Balvinder holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from City College of New York, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Fordham University, and is a certified Project Management Professional. She is a passionate advocate for STEM education and women in non-traditional careers, having served as president of an elementary school PTA and chair of the New York Section of IEEE. She is also part of Con Edison’s Asian Professional Alliance leadership team, promoting cultural diversity and career development. Balvinder enjoys mentoring young professionals and supporting their career growth.
