"Invest in New York" Trade Mission to China
(October 16, 2008, New York) The Asian American Business Development Center, in cooperation with the Office of the Democratic Leader of the New York State Senate Malcolm A. Smith, has organized "Invest in New York", a trade mission road show which will visit Shanghai, Changzhou, Nanjing and Beijing, November 7 - 16, 2008. The trade mission will include a delegation of State legislators and businesses from different regions of the state. The main objective is to introduce Chinese companies to the various investment opportunities throughout New York State.
New York Center Opens in Beijing New York Businesses Now Have Access to China
(April 21, 2008, Beijing) The New York in China Center officially opened in Beijing on April 21, 2008 by John Wang, President of the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) together with a delegation of New York State legislators representing upstate and down state: Senator Thomas Duane, Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, Assemblywoman Crystal D. Peoples, Assemblyman Dennis H. Gabryszak and Councilman Larry B. Seabrook. The Center will provide on-the-ground support in China to New York State businesses, especially small and medium size companies that are looking to enhance their competitiveness, but do not have the resources. The Center also offers consulting services for Chinese SMEs who are interested in setting up operations in New York. Government officials and guests from National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the All-China Federation of Trade and Industry, the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of China's State Council, the U.S. Embassy in China , the Am-Cham China and local business leaders attended the opening ceremony. China's former Consul General in New York, Ambassador Qiu Shengyun was the keynote speaker at the opening.

(October 31, 2007, New York)John Wang, President of the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) and New York State Senate Democratic Leader Senator Malcolm Smith jointly announce the opening of the first New York Center in Beijing on November 1, 2007. The New York Center will provide on-the-ground support in China for New York State businesses that want to access this burgeoning market, especially small and medium size companies that want to enhance their competitiveness, but do not have the resources. The Center is the only one of its kind where New York businesses can get strategic consulting on market development. Assemblyman Jose Rivera, Adam Powell IV, Assemblywoman Ellen Young and Kuang Weilin, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate also spoke at the announcement ceremony.
