AABDC assists U.S. and Chinese businesses to identify and develop trans-national business and marketing opportunities. It organizes trade missions, seminars and workshops and facilitates in-depth exploration and implementation of cross-border business development strategies and operations in the U.S. and China

In China, AABDC maintains high level contacts with various ministries and central government departments such as the Ministry of Commerce and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. It also works with national organizations such as the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs and various municipal governments, including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Dalian, to identify suitable products and services that can create business opportunities and expanded trade with the U.S.

With offices in New York, Hangzhou, Dalian and soon to be in Chengdu, AABDC is an active intermediary between businesses in the U.S. and China.

AABDC Host Legislative Breakfast for Companies Seeking Business & Trade Prospects in China
On July 19th AABDC organized its first legislative breakfast to discuss business and trade prospects between New York State and China and the event was hosted by AIG at its headquarters. Guest speakers included New York State Senate Democratic Leader Malcolm Smith, Downstate Chairman of the Empire State Development Corporation Patrick Foye and Acting Consul General of China Kuang Weilin.

The program opened with remarks from Senator Smith who has been working with AABDC for the past several years and participated in a number of AABDC trade missions intended to help small and mid-sized companies in NY State access the China market. Chairman Patrick Foye of ESDC delivered a keynote address outlining four key areas for driving economic ties with China including: increasing the export goods and services, attracting foreign direct investment in New York, development of travel and tourism programs and lowering visa restrictions, and forging stronger ties in business, academic, social and cultural exchange programs. Acting Consul General Kuang discussed China's enthusiasm in developing stronger business ties with New York State and welcome more companies to export their products and services to China in industries such as environmental protection, agriculture and professional services.

Chairman Foye announced plans to open a trade office in China this fall that will help small and medium sized enterprises to increase New York State exports to China. He promised that ESDC will work closely with AABDC's New York in China Center to implement state's objectives of expanding business tie with China.

Jianshan New District


Asian American Business Development Center signed an exclusive contract with Jianshan New District of Haining, Zhejiang in China to assist with marketing and attracting foreign direct investment. Jianshan New District is located in Northern Zhejiang, 60 kilometers west of Hangzhou and 120 kilometers east of Shanghai. Jianshan New District is a modern economic development zone with advanced manufacturing industries and well served infrastructure and services. The economic development zone provides tax preferential policies to foreign direct investment, including automobile parts manufacturing, biomedical, electronic products, leather products manufacturing, tourism and other industries.
