The Seventh Annual (2008) Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award crowning Asian Americans with Business World's Top Honor
(2008/5/29) Congressman, Anthony D.Weiner, the Guest of Honor, together with Leroy Comrie and Larry Seabrook, New York City Council, Stephen Orlins, National Committee on US - China Relations, Kyung Keun Kim, Consulate General of Korea, Cecilia Rebong, Consulate General Philippines, Am Gondane, Deputy Consulate General of India have joined 500 people at the Waldrof=Astoria Hotel in New York City on May 28th to pay tribute and celebrate the achievements of 50 recipients of the "Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business" award, an annual event organized by the Asian American Business Development Center.

New York Center Opens in Beijing New York Businesses Now Have Access to China
(April 21, 2008, New York) The New York in China Center officially opened in Beijing on April 21, 2008 by John Wang, President of the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) together with a delegation of New York State legislators representing upstate and down state: Senator Thomas Duane, Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, Assemblywoman Crystal D. Peoples, Assemblyman Dennis H. Gabryszak and Councilman Larry B. Seabrook. The Center will provide on-the-ground support in China to New York State businesses, especially small and medium size companies that are looking to enhance their competitiveness, but do not have the resources. The Center also offers consulting services for Chinese SMEs who are interested in setting up operations in New York. Government officials and guests from National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the All-China Federation of Trade and Industry, the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of China's State Council, the U.S. Embassy in China , the Am-Cham China and local business leaders attended the opening ceremony. China's former Consul General in New York, Ambassador Qiu Shengyun was the keynote speaker at the opening.
2008 New York State Legislators Trade Mission to China
(2008/4/26) Asian American Business Development Center organized the "2008 New York State and City Legislators Trade Mission to China" from April 18 ~ 26. New York State Legislators traveled to Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou during an intensive eight-day tour that included a combination of meetings with government and business leaders in each city visited, tours of economic development zones, as well as seminars to promote New York State as a destination for Chinese businesses and investments. This is the Asian American Business Development Center’s sixth trade mission to China since 2001. In total, AABDC has introduced more than 30 New York State elected officials to China’s booming economy with the purpose of promoting greater business activity between New York State and China.
